From the Senate chamber to the community, she has built a record of strengthening healthcare, supporting families, and protecting taxpayers. Her experience, proven effectiveness, and deep local roots make her a trusted voice working to keep North Dakota strong—today and for future generations.

Judy has been a trusted public servant for the West Fargo Community and state for decades. Her dedication and commitment has earned her numerous accolades and awards from organizations across North Dakota and the nation, including:

In addition, Judy is engaged in efforts to strengthen re-entry programs that help individuals transition from incarceration back into the workforce and community. Working with state and local partners, as well as groups like Jail Chaplains and Ministry on the Margins, these efforts address barriers like ID access, employment, and housing, which help reduce repeat offenses and strengthen communities. Her record reflects a rare combination of compassion, expertise, and results-driven leadership.

Judy’s commitment to North Dakota extends far beyond the Senate chamber. She has spent decades serving on boards and organizations that strengthen families, healthcare systems, and local communities.

Judy is also committed to investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals. She is the benefactor of the Duane and Judy Lee Scholarship, awarded to students pursuing clinical laboratory science at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She is also the benefactor for a scholarship support a West Fargo high school student.
Her dedication is deeply personal. Judy earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of North Dakota and began her career working in a clinic and hospital in Wahpeton. After moving to West Fargo, she spent 35 years as a real estate professional while continuing her lifelong commitment to community service.
Judy and her late husband, Duane, built their life in West Fargo. Together, they raised two children and are proud grandparents to three grandchildren.
